The Meteoric Rise to Fame – Deepti Bhatnagar

Born in Meerut, Deepti never planned on a life in the spotlight. Before modelling found her, she was running her own handicraft business. Everything changed when she entered and won the Miss India pageant. The title, as she recalled, transformed her life overnight. She earned a staggering ₹1 lakh in her first month and soon bought her first home in Mumbai.

This success flung open the doors to Bollywood and beyond. After her debut in Ram Shashtra, she became a familiar face in South Indian cinema, starring in hits like Pelli Sandadi (Telugu) and Dharma Chakkaram (Tamil). Her career took an international turn with the lead role in the Hollywood thriller Inferno.

Despite the rising fame, acting never felt like a natural fit. She was even trained by Shah Rukh Khan for a screen test for Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa but decided not to do it. She went on to work with Aamir Khan in Mann and performed a dance number as a lead in Salman Khan’s Chori Chori Chupke Chupke.
