UGC Rules

New Delhi: The Parliament Budget Session is starting on Wednesday. But with the beginning, the attitude of the opposition has become sharp. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has made a direct attack on the Central Government and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan regarding the new draft (University Grants Commission) UGC rules. Priyanka has made it clear that if these rules are not withdrawn, she will surround the government from the streets to the Parliament. On the other hand, Trinamool Congress MP Sagarika Ghosh said, we have reiterated in the all-party meeting that the process of SIR which is going on in West Bengal, should be discussed in the budget session.

MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has completely rejected the clarification given by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. She said, “There is no substance in the clarification given by the Education Minister. The government should immediately withdraw these rules. If this does not happen, I will raise this issue prominently in the budget session of Parliament.”

UGC Rules Will Poison The Campus

Expressing deep concern over the new guidelines of UGC, Priyanka said that this will spread ‘poison’ in the university campus. He expressed apprehension that these rules could be misused on a large scale. He says that “UGC rules should be inclusive and have complete clarity, but there is a lot of confusion in the current draft.”

‘General class should also have the right to complain’

Raising the issue of discrimination in rules, the Shiv Sena MP said that injustice can happen to anyone. He said, “If someone is wronged, everyone should have the right to complain. If injustice is done to a general category student, he should also have the right to complain.”

‘Calling wrong wrong is not politics’

On the question asked on the stand of India Block, Priyanka clearly said that she is not aware of the decision of the alliance, but the stand is clear for her. He said, “I don’t know what decision the India Bloc will take, but whatever is wrong, is wrong. Every issue should not be seen from the political perspective.”

She also reminded that earlier also she had raised the issues related to Rohith Vemula and Muslims in the Parliament and now she will not remain silent on this UGC issue related to the future of students. Today the budget session is starting with the President’s address in Parliament, and it is clear from the attitude of Priyanka Chaturvedi that this session is going to be a stormy one.

Government rejected demand for discussion on G-RAM-G and SIR

The dispute between the government and the opposition has increased again in the Parliament. The government has rejected the opposition’s demand for discussion on issues related to G-RAM-G and SIR. The opposition parties were demanding immediate debate by bringing an adjournment motion in the House on both these subjects.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that during the budget session, every discussion should be focused on the budget only, this is what the rules say. The opposition should raise their issues, but do not create ruckus. After the government’s refusal, the opposition accused the ruling party of running away from questions and hiding the facts.
